An iconic green tea with dramatic looks and complex grace. Handpicked from heirloom Quntizhong cultivar in the misty mountains of Xinming County, this Taiping Houkui is crafted using traditional hand-pressing techniques, giving each leaf its iconic flat, orchid-like form.
Expect a fresh, vegetal sweetness with a sticky rice-like texture, accented by floral high notes and soft fruity undertones. The long, slow-roasted leaves yield a smooth and lingering umami, perfect for quiet spring mornings.

Appearance: Slender, coiled threads adorned with silvery pekoe.
Aroma: Intoxicating orchid and fruity notes (thanks to orchard-grown tea trees).
Taste: Smooth, sweet umami with a lingering floral aftertaste.
Liquor: Pale jade-green, crystal-clear.

Water temperature: 80–85°C
Tea-to-water ratio: 1g : 100ml

Steep gently and observe the upright dancing leaves (“Phoenix dancing in the water”).

First infusion: 1 minutes. Refill with hot water as needed. Could be brewed for 3-4 times

Production Process:

Carefully hand-picked early spring leaves: one bud with two tender leaves.

Brief withering under natural sunlight.

Hand-shaped and flattened between mesh cloth using a low-temperature pressing technique.

Finished with a meticulous hand-roast to maintain fragrance and preserve the unique form—long, flat, and orchid-like.
