White Vessel, Living Tea
Tea, like clay, is alive — shaped by hand, fire, and time.
In this collaborative atelier event, we invite you to slow down and explore how tea reveals its character through the ware.
Using the white porcelain gaiwan — a simple vessel often used by tea masters to reveal the tea’s true essence — we will brew and taste teas across several categories:
- Green: 2025 First Flush Long Jing
- Oolong: Alishan High Mountain Oolong
- Red: Old Bush Lapsang Souchong
- White: 2024 Spring Moonlight
- Pu’er: 2021 Lincang Sheng
- Each infusion will show a different hue, aroma, and feeling — the living colors of tea.
We’ll then contrast the experience with glass brewing, where the same tea becomes visible in motion — the unfurling leaves, the shifting tones, the quiet dance of water and leaf.
Alongside the tasting, ceramists from the studio will present their works — vessels born from earth and fire, each resonating with the spirit of tea.
