A wood-fired Yixing teapot made from 紫泥 (zini / purple clay) by 濮俊芬 (Pu Junfen). The surface carries soft iron-grey and bronze gradients shaped by flame, with subtle metallic sheen where ash and heat concentrated during firing.
Unlike standard reduction-fired Yixing, this piece was wood-fired, allowing natural flashing and uneven tonal transitions. The Zishaclay body remains breathable and mineral-rich, while the exterior shows the quiet unpredictability of fire.
The round seal on the base reads 入林上作 — “Entering the Forest · Fine Work” — an apt reflection of its organic surface and grounded presence. By local Yixing teapot maker
