Thisl Yixing teapot is made from 桂花泥 (Osmanthus clay) — a blended clay composed of purple zini and duanni fragments. When fired, the surface reveals fine mineral speckling throughout the red-brown body, resembling scattered osmanthus petals, which gives the clay its name.
The texture is matte, dense, and mineral-rich. Over time, it will deepen in tone and develop a soft sheen with use.
The form is balanced and restrained — rounded body, steady spout angle, and a comfortable handle arc suited for longer sessions. At 230ml, it works particularly well for rolled oolongs, aged white tea, or black tea when sharing.
The base bears the seal of 工艺美术师 赵德国 (Arts & Crafts Master Zhao Deguo), confirming individual artisan production rather than factory casting.
